Congratulations to Brother Greg Jennings on being initiated this past Saturday.
Good news everyone! We’re in a period of transition here at the Pi Lambda website as your High Tech, yours truly, rolls out a new design as well as the new brother profile section! Stay tuned for more changes! Good news everybody! As you may have noticed we have a nifty events calendar on the left sidebar now so you now you can’t say “I didn’t know this event was today!” Unless of course I neglect to update the calendar then feel free to say whatever you want. Expect more changes to the site. The new officers are updated on the officers page. The new officers will assume power on the first meeting (January 25th, 2009) during the officer installation ceremony as performed by our High Pi. During this year’s General Assembly, Pi-Lambda Zeta won the highly coveted Grand High Alpha Award. We obtained a copy of the video thanks to Chris Barrick at IHQ: On Friday, September 12th, the Brothers, Associates, and friends of Pi-Lambda Zeta joined together to participate in the Light the Night walk put on by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. A total of over $1,200 was raised in this event. Article on StLCoP’s website
Pi-Lambda Zeta is excited to welcome 16 new Associate Members. Their names are up on the Brothers page and their pictures will be posted soon: Nathan Aldrich (3rd) We will be performing the AM Ceremony on Sunday, September 14th. If you’re interested in attending, let me know. In ZAX, AP (St. Louis, MO) - For the second time in five years, the Pi-Lambda Zeta of Lambda Chi Alpha has won the St. Louis College of Pharmacy Organization of the Year Award. Presented tonight at the STLCOP Top100 Dinner, several Brothers were on hand for the award presentation. “I couldn’t believe it when I heard it. I was so surprised and happy at the same time,” said James Houpt, 5th year. The Award which is sponsored by Shop N’ Save Pharmacy comes with a $1,000 stipend which will come in handy as budgets get tighter every year. “We’ll definitely put this money to good use. We have a Brotherhood Retreat coming up, so that will allow us to put our minds together to find the best way to use this money in our community with some going to charity and perhaps a little bit for a rainy day. I’ve the the joy-joy down in my heart!” said Brian Scholfield, 3rd year and Chapter President. Pi-Lambda Zeta last won the Organization of the Year Award in 2004 under the watchful eyes of High Alpha Brandon Eldridge. “It was a different time then,” said Eldridge, 5th year, “There was 19 of us when we won the award, and we all lived in the dorms. I’m proud that the tradition of winning [and rocking out] continues.” On April 24, 2008 the Brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha Pi-Lambda Zeta held the Inaugural Watermelon Bash on the St. Louis College of Pharmacy Campus in the Central West End of St. Louis, Missouri. The Watermelon Bash was held to raise money and non-perishable food for Lambda Chi Alpha’s International Philanthropic Event, the North American Food Drive, held every November. The NAFD was first held in 1993 and to-date has raised more than 27 million pounds of food for needy families across North America. The event is the largest single-day philanthropic event held by a collegiate organization ever. The proceeds of the Bash went to the Arnold Food Pantry. Through the hard work and effort of everyone
