St. Louis Community -
As we prepare for the upcoming holiday season, the brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity would like your help and support in a twofold effort, in creating a Christmas to remember for some of St. Louis’s most disadvantaged youth.
First, on Saturday, December 18th, we will be hosting our 3rd annual LXA Breakfast with Santa, at which, we would like to invite 100 children (K- 5) from some of the areas most underserved communities. The event will include a light breakfast, arts and crafts, and of course, an opportunity to meet Santa and receive a free gift (kindly donated by members of the STLCOP Greek Organizations)!
In order to provide this great opportunity, we invite you to donate $10.oo to sponsor a child to attend. Each donor will in turn receive a sticker to recognize their kindness and contribution. We would like to extend this experience to as many children we can accommodate, so the more donors the more children we can invite! All unclaimed presents will be donated to St. Louis College of Pharmacy adjunct professor, Rita Sweiner’s, Santa’s Helpers St. Louis Toy Drive.
All collected proceeds will go towards the St. Louis Ready Readers Program, which highlights the second part of our effort. Ready Readers is one of the area’s biggest champions for improving childhood literacy, and inspiring pre-school children from low-income communities to become readers. They serve 7,000 low income children, ages 2-5, in the St. Louis community, and last year, managed to donate over 49,000 high quality new books. Through their 4500 volunteers who visit the children every week, they have made a huge impact in our community in arming kids for a brighter future. At the end of our event, our goal is to donate $1000 to their efforts in support of their continued excellence in advancing childhood education to those in need!
We hope you will join us in spreading a little holiday cheer to those who need it the most, and we thank you in advance for your time and support!
